Why does construction software fit so badly for small and mid-size contractors?
Because most of it was designed for general contractors running large commercial projects. Procore, Autodesk Build, and the platforms in that tier assume a project team with a dedicated project manager, a document controller, and a superintendent who lives in the system. They are excellent at that job and priced accordingly.
A contractor running six to twenty crews has a different problem. The bottleneck is not RFI routing or submittal logs.
